About Me
For me, it's simply about happiness. The life-long happiness that music can bring through playing an instrument and creating music with others. When I started playing the trumpet at age 12 I felt a special connection with music and I hope to show every single one of my students the same thing. My connection with music lead me to the drums and eventually to Berklee College of Music where I got to meet and study with countless others who had a similar connection.
Upon returning to my Texas home I discovered a love for teaching and immediately set out to combine my newly acquired skills into building a drum program that could be enjoyed by novice and experienced drummers alike. That program turned into 'Drum With Andy' and I continue to build the program today while teaching from my home and virtually over the internet. Not to abandon my love of playing, I continue to perform locally and around the United States and bring the experience back to share with my students.
But it gets even better! What happens when two people who feel the same about music meet each other? They get married and teach in the same house! Along with my wife, Misaki, we have turned our home into a musical playground with instruments everywhere and a sense of community that the students and parents get to enjoy. We truly care about each of our students and take pride in the quality of music education we provide. As we strive to have a positive impact on our community, we invite you into our home to share the joys of music.
